The words P8 uses, and what they actually mean

A few terms show up across this site more than once. Here's what each one means, plainly, without assuming you've read the rest first.

The category word P8 uses for itself, on purpose.
Most tools in this space stop at collecting or summarizing feedback. P8 doesn't stop there. It turns what customers actually said into a ranked call on what to build next. “Decide” is the word for that last step: not more data, an actual decision.
Leans on
The step between customer signal and what a team decides to build.
Most tools stop at collecting or summarizing feedback and leave the actual call to you. A decision layer is the step that's usually missing: it takes the signal and turns it into a ranked call, with the source attached, before anyone opens a meeting about it.

Leans on
The source behind a claim, not the claim on its own.
Every ranked item traces back to something real: a call, a ticket, a usage number. “Receipts” is the shorthand for that link: if a decision can’t point back to where it came from, it isn’t one P8 would surface.
Leans on
What actually happened, not what's assumed.
Ground truth is the raw material: the call transcript, the support ticket, the usage log, before anyone's opinion gets layered on top of it. P8's ranking works from that raw material first.
Leans on
The question P8 is built to answer before you ask it.
“Says who?” is the test every claim on this site, and every decision P8 ranks, has to survive. A number, a quote, or a source, not an adjective standing in for one.
Leans on
The part of the noise worth acting on.
Calls, tickets, and customer messages produce a lot of raw material. Signal is the subset of it that actually points toward what to build next; the rest is just volume.

The weekly output P8 hands you: a short list, not a dashboard.
Every Monday, P8 turns that week's calls, tickets, and changelogs into a few ranked things to build next, each one traced back to what a customer actually said. It's built from real conversations, not a summary of them: three things to build and why, plus what P8 is deliberately not building yet.

The loop P8 runs, start to finish, not just the first step.
Most tools stop after the first arrow: they collect signal and hand you a summary. P8 closes the whole loop: it turns scattered customer and market signal into a ranked decision, then keeps tracking what happened after that decision shipped, so the next week's ranking is grounded in what actually worked, not just what was asked for.
